Date Palm Trees ( phoenix dactylifera )
Well the most important tree in Ouled Djellal is date palm tree. the most known kind is called Deglet Nour ( half soft date ) which is very appreciated here and internationally.
There are many other kind of date palm trees: Mish Degla and Deglat Beida are hard dates. El'Guars is a soft date usually eaten at the end of August and September and after it is pressed and put in the B'tanna ( the skin of goats ) to preserve it.
There are other varieties less planted like El'Yatima ( the orphelin ). People gave it this name because it is not planted a lot, for example you can find it in the old gardens, but the new ones you could not find one easily.
